WHAT IS BALLET IN A BOX?

Ballet in a Box is the latest initiative from London Children’s Ballet which was created with the aims of supporting busy ballet teachers looking to create more performance opportunities for talented dancers across the country and to increase the scope of the London Children’s Ballet touring productions to care homes and SEN schools. We are proud to have the backing of the Arts Council for this ambitious project.

WHO ARE LONDON CHILDREN’S BALLET?

London Children’s Ballet has been an active charity and performance company for 25 years.

We are a performance company and charity founded 25 years ago with the hopes of providing free training opportunities to dancers between the ages of 9 and 16, as well as the opportunity to perform on a West End stage. As we have developed, so has our charitable outreach work and our programmes – such as our Ballet for £1 tickets for under-resourced schools and charities for children and the elderly and our touring productions to care homes and SEN schools – have become an integral part of our core work.

Since our inception in 1994, LCB productions have received rave reviews and have sold out almost every year.

The London Children’s Ballet team is a small but mighty one and with Ballet in a Box, we hope to increase the breadth of our outreach work further than we ever could by ourselves.

What are the London Children’s Ballet touring productions?

LCB’s touring productions take place at three points every year. Based on the full-length West End ballet, an adapted 25minute version is taken to care homes, hospices and SEN schools, with a reduced cast. It is a chance to bring the joy of dance directly to those who may not be able to join us at the theatre.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

If you are a ballet teacher working outside of London, we want to hear from you! Our beautiful portal contains all the resources you may need to put on a touring production in your local area. With the help of our partner schools, we are aiming to reach an additional 40 venues every year, taking ballet to the most isolated in society all across the country.

We also have options for you to put on a ticketed production of the show depending on your school needs. To register your interest in the project, please fill in the form below or email admin@londonchildrensballet.com.
